Kathy Meck
Director of Development & Marketing

Kathy Meck joined the Center for Literacy in late February 2011. Promoted to Director of Development & Marketing in November 2011, Kathy brings to CFL a proven toolbox of fundraising savvy, coupled with strategic marketing skills. Kathy received her Master’s degree in Public Administration from Kutztown University in 2007, following undergraduate study at Drexel University, where she earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and International Area Studies. While at Drexel University, Kathy completed co-ops with the City of Philadelphia Water Department, City of Philadelphia Department of Commerce International Division, and the Spring Garden Community Development Corporation. Her career is concentrated in nonprofit work, in industries such as healthcare, arts and education. Kathy has also worked as an independent consultant to organizations such as the HCM Foundation and the South Street Headhouse District.

Kathy is currently pursuing her Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) credential, and recently joined the all-women philanthropy group, Impact100, where she will begin an active term in December 2012. Kathy enjoys wine, shooting pool, writing, reading and traveling with family, along with being an avid runner; she recently finished her first full marathon in November 2011.
