Corporations
Corporate support is a critical factor in the Center for Literacy's ability to manage and expand current programs, develop new programs and curricula, provide learners with books and learning aids, and conduct research on educational solutions to evolving community needs.
Corporate contributions to CFL impact a diverse population of learners who are working hard to achieve personal and employment-related goals. There are an estimated 400,000 adults living in Philadelphia today who have less than a fifth grade education. In addition there are tens of thousands of out of school youth in need of alternative programs to complete their secondary education. The local economy, available workforce, consumer awareness, and crime are all directly impacted by low literacy levels.
Corporations can support CFL through restricted or unrestricted grants, sponsorship of special events, or gifts in kind. In addition, corporations may choose to feature CFL as a matching gift organization for their employees' individual philanthropic contributions.
The following corporations have recently contributed to the Center for Literacy. We thank them for their generosity and their commitment to our mission.
