Description

“To be numerically literate, a person has to be comfortable with logic and reasoning.” Innumeracy can be the result of being unable to comprehend math or unfamiliar with math concepts. This workshop is grounded in the belief that unfamiliarity and discomfort are far more common barriers to math achievement than inability. Anxiety has immediate physiological effects that can dramatically influence a student’s performance and confidence. Participants should come prepared to hear and exchange techniques for relieving students’ math anxieties and encouraging their logical and critical reasoning. Bring your favorite word problems and equations!
