The Bridge Program

The Bridge Program serves out-of-school youth looking to reconnect to education and require additional literacy support.  CFL Literacy Specialists serve students whose reading and math skills fall below the 6th grade level.  Students receive intensive instruction in reading, foundational math, writing, listening, and speaking activities in small groups.  Instruction addresses specific needs and interests of the student, and is inclusive of employment and academic skills.  Once success is achieved, students are transferred into a multiple pathway option and continue their journey toward earning high school credentials.

This program is funded by the Department of Labor through contracts with the School District of Philadelphia in partnership with Philadelphia Health Management Corporation.

North Philadelphia Community High School
CFL operates a similar model at North Philadelphia Community High School.  The students in this program participate in an alternative high school diploma program, while simultaneously receiving literacy support.

This program is funded by the Department of Labor through contracts with the School District of Philadelphia in partnership with IECI/One Bright Ray, Inc.
