Adult Basic Education

CFL offers Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes at community based sites throughout the City of Philadelphia and Delaware County. These classes are designed to improve reading, writing, math, workplace and/or life skills.  Lessons are contextualized, often project based and may be delivered individually, in small groups or as a class and address goal specific objectives set by the respective student.  Classes are free, taught by dedicated professional teachers and are held twice a week for 2.5 hours per session either in the morning, afternoon or early evening.

Enrollment in ABE classes requires an orientation session.  The orientation consists of an introduction to the educational support services available and an assessment of the student's reading, writing and math skills.  For more information on ABE classes please contact us via email or call 215.474.1235.
