GED

General Education Development
CFL offers free General Educational Development (GED) classes at community based sites throughout the City of Philadelphia and Delaware County.  These classes prepare GED candidates for advancement to post-secondary education, the workplace and to pass each of the five subject areas of the GED test: Language Arts Writing, Language Arts Reading, Math, Social Studies and Science. Lessons are contextualized, often project based and are delivered individually, in small groups or as a class and address goal specific objectives set by the respective student.  Classes are taught by dedicated professional teachers and are held twice a week for 2.5 hours per session in the morning, afternoon or early evening. Students who pass the GED test will be able to participate in our annual graduation ceremony in June.

Enrollment in GED classes requires an orientation session.  The orientation consists of an introduction to the educational support services available and an assessment of the student's reading, writing and math skills.  For more information on GED classes please contact us via email or call 215.474.1235.
