Adult Programs

Center for Literacy's Adult Education Department offers a number of free instructional options throughout Philadelphia and Delaware counties to individuals at least 17 years of age. We provide over 50 community based classes in Adult Basic Education (ABE), General Education Development (GED), English as a Second Language (ESL), and customized literacy options.  All CFL community classes are staffed with dedicated professional instructors and learners are afforded the highest level of research based and field tested educational support.

CFL draws upon its experience of serving the Philadelphia region over the past 40 years.  CFL has designed practical solutions to the adult literacy crisis.  Widely considered a leader among its peers, CFL brings innovative thinking to adult literacy and continues to pioneer new programs to address the needs of the Philadelphia region.
